Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste is one of India’s fastest-growing waste streams, generating millions of tonnes annually. Traditionally, much of it has ended up in landfills or illegal dumps, contributing to pollution and resource wastage.
Globally, countries like the Netherlands and Japan recycle more than 90% of their C&D waste, turning it into high-value aggregates, tiles, and road materials. India, however, is still in the early stages of scaling such innovation.
Recent government policies and smart city initiatives have boosted demand for modern C&D waste recycling plants. The challenge lies in handling contamination (plaster, paints, mixed debris) and producing certified quality aggregates that builders can trust. Indo Green Enviro has been at the forefront, designing plants that meet global benchmarks while addressing local challenges.
The race to leadership depends on how quickly India can scale infrastructure and enforce quality standards. The opportunity is huge—if harnessed well, India can become a global example in sustainable construction.
