Text "Where do we stand?" beside a construction site with machinery and C&D waste piles. Beige circles and sky background.

India generates over 150 million tonnes of construction and demolition (C&D) waste annually, yet a fraction of it is processed formally. That’s rapidly changing. With rising urbanisation, stricter regulations, and sustainable construction incentives, India is racing toward global leadership in C&D waste innovation.

What sets India apart is the scale and urgency. Urban local bodies are under pressure to clear landfills, and real estate developers face green building mandates. The demand for engineered recycled products like sand substitutes, recycled concrete aggregate (RCA), and precast pavers—is rising steadily.

Indo Green Enviro has been at the forefront of this shift, building modular, high-throughput C&D plants tailored to Indian conditions. These plants feature dry and wet processing lines, magnetic separation, and density-based sorting. Their outputs meet BIS standards and are already being used in road construction, paving, and non-structural concrete mixes.

The innovation goes beyond equipment. Successful C&D waste solutions in India depend on smart logistics (think: in-city collection hubs), public-private partnerships, and continuous material testing. Many municipalities are now adopting revenue-sharing models with recyclers, making this sector financially viable for the long haul

Globally, countries like the Netherlands and Japan have near-total recovery from C&D waste. India still has a way to go—but with Indo Green’s scalable tech and regulatory momentum building fast, we’re on the right path.
